What does partial edentation mean?
Partial edentation is manifested by the loss (extraction) of one or more teeth from the same dental arch. Even when you have only one teeth on an arch, we are talking about partial edentation.
Cause of appearence:
To understand better, how we can avoid teeth loss as much as possible, we must know the most common causes that lead to the emergence of edentation. Issssssssssssssdffasfsssfsată some of them:
- Deep decay not treated in time
- Trauma/accident
- Fracture during chewing
- Anatomical dysfunction (when the teeth did not erupt naturally)
- Apical inflammation arising from unsuccessful canal treatment
What solutions can be applied?
As in the total edentation, we have fixed and mobile solutions.
fixed:
- Dental implant
- Dental bridge
- Maryland bridge
Mobile
- Partial prostheses (with different fastening systems)
- Simple or elastic acrylic prostheses
There are several types of mobile prostheses, which are recommended in different situations depending on how many teeth you are missing and where they are located. We have described all types of prostheses in more detail in the „services” section. We invite you to meet them by accessing this page.
Mobile solutions can usually be used in any situation of partial edentation, however the most convenient ones remain fixed solutions. These, however, cannot be applied in all cases and should be chosen on the recommendation of your doctor. for example, fixed decks on natural teeth are difficult to use if the edentulous space is large, while dental implant works can be used carefree in any situation. Maryland bridge will replace only one tooth in the front area.
Price: How much could each solution cost you?
If in total edentation we can talk about a price for each solution,in the case of partial rehabilitation, it is difficult for us to calculate, since we don’t know the number of missing teeth. (Write here how many teeth are missing and we will send you the calculation on your email).
Remember that prices can differ greatly depending on the country where you are going to solve the problem, and last but not least, the level of the clinic. The working protocol that addresses the clinic also plays a very important role.
In us in the clinic, as everywhere in the world, the most economical solution would be the mobile prosthesis. Then, most likely, it follow Maryland bridge. Next is the fixed bridge supported on the neighboring teeth, and the solution with the highest price is the one with dental implants.
The price of mobile prostheses in our clinic starts from 50 euros. Maryland bridge costs around 150 euros. The fixed bridge on the teeth costs from 300 euro (100 euro for each element of the bridge), and replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant would cost from 400 euro (accessories needed for implant construction, as well as anesthesia and suture thread are included in the price).
